Welcome to the Legal Policy Section of the Brown Policy Review! Our center deals with a diversity of complex legislative issues facing Americans today, with topics ranging from affirmative action to national security. In our first issue, Editor Melissa Riess selected two judicial policy papers that addressed individuals, their relationship with the society in which they live, and how that relationship is perceived by the legal system. The Fall 2005 Legal Policy section concentrates on the multifaceted and often contentious discourse between citizens and constitutionality. As a center, this year is a rebuilding period for us. We are focused on recruiting new members, establishing and solidifying roles within our section, and heightening on campus awareness about Legal Policy and BPR. We remain committed to soliciting high quality judicial policy papers and supporting the objectives of BPR and the Roosevelt Institute.
