"Human kindness has never weakened the stamina or softened the fiber of a free people. A nation does not have to be cruel to be tough."

— Franklin Roosevelt

Roosevelt Institution Rapidly Expanding

STANFORD, CA - The Roosevelt Institution, originally founded at Stanford and Yale Universities, is quickly expanding, with similar organizations under the banner of the Roosevelt Network already founded at Middlebury College, and opening soon at Bates College and Columbia University.

"We are very excited that the Roosevelt model is spreading to so many places so quickly" said Quinn Wilhelmi, Executive Director for the Roosevelt Institution at Stanford. "The movement grows with every school added to the list."

The new partners of the Roosevelt Institution will follow the organizational model that already operates at Stanford and Yale Universities. Middlebury launched just this week, and Bates and Columbia are set to open sometime this spring.

"The ultimate goal is to have a chapter of Roosevelt at every institution of higher learning in the country" said Andrew Cox, Public Relations Coordinator at Yale. "The Roosevelt Network is looking to have the work of students from across the country introduced into national policy debate."

Even as the Roosevelt Institution expands nationally, the existing chapters at Stanford and Yale Universities are steadily developing. The Roosevelt Institution at Stanford held its campus kickoff event on February 8th, drawing close to 400 students, faculty, and community members. Yale has recently entered into partnerships with various community organizations to begin research projects.

The Roosevelt Institution is a think tank devoted to bringing the policy research of college students to the attention of academia, media, and government.
