Stanford - 2/3 Update: Roosevelt Offered Legal Counsel

The Roosevelt Institution is excited to have received the offer of pro-bono legal counsel from Mr. Daniel Appelman, a partner at the Silicon Valley office of Heller, Ehrman, White, and McAuliffe. With his help, the Roosevelt Institution will be able to incorporate in the state of California and to obtain federal tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization. Mr. Appelman will also provide counsel on other legal issues, such as the most favorable structure for the organization and intellectual property issues.

Mr. Appelman has been a part of Heller Ehrman since 1988. He has published and lectured on computer and telecommunications law and the law of electronic commerce. Additionally, he is the chair of California State Bar’s Cyberspace Law Committee and he is an Advisory Member of the Entrepreneurs Forum of the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
