"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

— Teddy Roosevelt

Mission Statement of Policy Center on Civil Liberties and Democracy

We, the members of the Center on Civil Liberties and Democracy, are dedicated to the research of current issues affecting the lives and freedoms of the country's citizens, as well as those of our friends and neighbors. We believe in educating others in the area of our study, examining legislation that affects the rights and freedoms of the citizens, and researching issues of civil liberties and democracy with the intention of inspiring and suggesting change. Our ultimate objective is to protect the unaware, inform the uninformed, and understand the rights and liberties we deserve in the system under which we live, for the purpose of maintaining our freedoms through policy.

If you would like to get involved, please email Katlyn (director of civil liberties)katlylei@umich.edu
