Mission Statement: We, at the Center for African Studies, are dedicated to enhancing the awareness and understanding of the economic, political, and social development of Africa.  Our focus for the fall semester of 2007 is refugee warehousing. Refugee warehousing is described as the practice of isolating large populations of displaced refugees in camps or segregated settlements, for periods of ten years or longer.  There are currently around 7 million people warehoused worldwide and we are committed to finding potential policies and solutions to help alleviate the forgotten crisis.
