For the 2007-2008 academic year, the Center for Energy and the Environment studied the prospects of wind energy as a supplemental renewable energy source for the state of Michigan. 

October 2007: Three of the Michigan State University Roosevelt students had the opportunity to attend the Roosevelt | Energy Conference at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  The perspectives discussed at this conference served as an informational and as well as an inspirational factor to our energy studies.

November 2007: The Center for Energy and Environment meets with the State of Michigan Office of the Governor to discuss current gubernatorial energy initiatives for the state.

November 2007:  As our project research leads us to redefine our focus, we are collaborating with our Economic Center in order to complete an analysis of Michigan wind energy as it is relevant to the economics of this state.

March 2008: "Michigan Wind Energy: An Assessment and Future Policy Implications" was featured in the "Great Stakes for the Great Lakes" publication through the Midwestern Region of the Roosevelt Institution.  The research within the report was presented at the Great Stakes for the Great Lakes conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan on March 28, 2008.
