Mission The Center for International Development believes in proactive and progressive policy to reduce the economic gap between developed and developing countries throughout the globe. Based upon a principle of diminishing human suffering, the Center focuses on on social, political, and economic issues facing the developing world. Students generate policy that creates practical solutions for emerging global problems.
About the Center The Center for International Development is constantly growing. In the Fall of 2008, it produced a policy on reform of social work in refugee camps in order to prevent protracted refugee situations. For the 2008-2009 year, the Center is excited to announce focuses on diverse areas and issues, including urban development in Eastern Europe, drug trafficking and crime in Latin America and the Caribbean, and microfinancing in Southeast Asia. Our fellows usually collaborate in small groups for policy writing, but the Center for International Development prides itself in facilitating taking students' ideas to the next step in policy no matter what topic or issue is of interest.
