Summer Internships

Thank you to everyone who applied for the summer internship program.  We were really impressed with our applicants - and we wish that we could take more of you.  Those interested in the Roosevelt Academy's fall program should click here.

If you're planning to be in DC during the academic year and are interested in an internship with Roosevelt, please contact Paul Burow.  High school juniors and seniors from the DC area are also welcome to apply.  Internships are usually unpaid, but we can help you arrange for course credit or service hours through your school.

We are also interested in students who would like to pursue special research projects as fellows of the Roosevelt Institution.  For details on research fellowships, contact Caitlin Howarth.

The Internship: Details

Forget about the typical DC internship – here, you’re a key member of the staff and will be responsible for making major decisions about two of our biggest annual events, the Policy Expo & the Hyde Park conference.

You’ll be placed into a track that focuses on media outreach, event coordination, legislative outreach & education, writing & editing, and/or policy research.  Also, you get to attend the same leadership training sessions that the Roosevelt Academy students attend, and meet the same people.

These are all full-time, paid internships and require at least 40 hours per week; we’re looking for the best and brightest to come work with us.

Limited to 8 interns.

The deadline for applications was March 15, 2008; applications are now closed.   Click here to see the Roosevelt Academy page, where you can download the standard application and get ready for the next Academy app round.
