Position Title: Communications and Media Associate

Location: Washington, DC

Position Description: The Communications and Media Associate is responsible for assisting the President and Executive Director with a strong focus on dissemination of research.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Develop electronic mailing lists for publicizing the contents of the journals of the organization to congressional, government and business leaders.
•    Initiate and maintain communication with professors and personnel at universities –soliciting articles for the journals and use of PSO materials in curriculum.
•    Cultivate and maintain relationships with the PSO consortium of state and provincial member associations.
•    Helping to grow our current base of institutional members, by reaching out to libraries which are not getting our journals.

Job Requirements:
•    Interest in administration
•    Several years term desirable
•    Freshmen to Junior year college student preferably (Seniors not eligible)
•    Some computer skills
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Good presentation

Description: The Policy Studies Organization is an international non governmental, non profit organization, furthering research and dissemination of policy scholarship. Our organization is a related society of the American, Midwest, Southern and International Political Science Associations, as well as of the International Studies Association. We publish three flagship periodicals in the public policy field: Politics & Policy, Policy Studies Journal and Review of Policy Research. The PSO is planning a major policy conference to be held in December 2008.
