Editors Wanted for the Roosevelt Review

The Roosevelt Review is the national journal of the Roosevelt Institution. Its editorial voice represents the entire organization, so we're looking for editors and section readers from all schools to select the articles for the next issue.  Please contact Kyle Atwell with any questions not answered in the information below.

Three positions are available:

• Editorial Board
  Nine Editors will work closely with the Chair of the Editorial Board to help refine the Review's standards of excellence in article selection.  The Editorial Board also oversees the Policy Database and judges presentations made at Roosevelt Policy Expos, so experience beyond publications alone is preferred.  Significant publications and administrative background is highly recommended. Successful applicants will be expected to commit to working on the Review for the duration of one issue, and to be potentially committed through the next issue (the Review is now published bi-annually, so this roughly matches a semester schedule).  Please address questions to cnh2d@virginia.edu (not found in user database).
  
• Senior Editor
  Senior editors form the senior editorial staff along with the editor in chief and the style editors. During the production cycle, the senior editors will receive the top 20 submissions culled by the Editorial Board and complete the process to refine and select a final set of articles for publication. After all submissions have been read, the senior editorial staff will decide which articles will be sent to professional referees for potential publication. They will then work with the referees to maximize constructive feedback, and then work with the authors of those articles chosen for final publication to incorporate the recommendations of the readers and referees. • Section Reader
  Section readers form the basis of our editing process. After each submission is received, it is assigned to a section editor according to topic. Papers will be generally divided along the policy interests which are listed in the user setup page (under user tools, click on "edit my info" to see the list). Section readers are asked to read their articles and rate them, sending back comments on those that they rate the highest. These comments and ratings will then inform which articles are selected for further editing. The number of articles assigned will vary based on received submissions, so applicants should list more than one policy area. Background in these areas is recommended, and will be considered highly when selecting section readers.
