The Roosevelt Institution

Center on Global Security and Human Rights

The Center for Global Security and Human Rights will focus on security issues on the various levels of government. The Center will concentrate on creating proposals and providing commentary for the appropriate governing body.

Since the terrorists attacks of September 11, 2001 the United States has seen some of the most shameful violations of the rights of both US citizens and citizens of the world. As these violations are a direct result of such terrorist attacks, we feel that those who believe the strongest in protecting personal liberties and constitutional rights should be the ones working hardest to prevent any future attacks.

We at the Roosevelt Institute believe that in this world of constant threats from a myriad of sources, the citizens can and need to be protected responsibly while protecting their civil liberties.

In this era of globalization, any domestic threat can soon turn to an international or even global crisis. This is why the Center for Global and National Security will also address issues affecting global security, ranging from political violence, oppressive and violent governments, humanitarian crises, or threats to international trade.
