It ensures the development of youth, playing a central role in developing the leaders, workers, artists, writers, and citizens of the future. As such, a quality education has the power to unlock individual potentials, to serve as the basis for social mobility, and to foster the development of the backbone of any democratic society - its informed and active citizenry. The Center on Education and Learning is dedicated to developing and promoting policies that expand and increase the level of quality education for every person. Universal access to high-quality education is seen as an integral component for the expansion of technological and economic development as well as a tool to promote innovation and creativity. Furthermore, broad-based and multi-cultural education is seen as a mechanism for tolerance and security in an ever expanding global community. The Center’s current research interests deal with several areas including: - Early childhood development - K-12 education - Curriculum innovation - Non-formal education development - Teacher training, recruitment and retention - Higher education - Global, international, and multi-cultural education - Later life learning - Economics of education The Center on Education and Learning understands that in order to expand quality education, novel and promising ideas must be implemented. In addition to our focus on research and analysis, the Center works on presenting and lobbying ideas to legislators and policy-makers as well as the community.
