Our center recently published an Op-Ed (in conjunction with the Op-Ed project for the Special Election) on the reasons why Proposition 73 on parental notification for abortion was bad policy (and are very pleased that Prop 73 did end up failing). Currently, we are drafting a proposal for a policy regarding how the newly developed HPV vaccine, the leading cause of cervical cancer, should be implimented. In the future, we plan to work for actualization of US funding of the United Nations Population Fund. There are many issues that need to be addressed through policy regarding issues of women and gender. We firmly believe that positive change towards the advancement of gender equality is not only possible, it is essential.
