The Perfect Presidential Platform
April 11 and 12, 2008
The Perfect Presidential Platform is a two-day conference intended to provide participants the opportunity to voice their opinions and craft creative solutions to five key policy challenges in the upcoming presidential election. These five issues are as follows: the War in Iraq, immigration, energy, taxes, and health care. Participants will be broken up into groups depending upon their ideological preference and their issue of choice. They will work in teams to develop creative policies that collectively represent a spectrum of ideas. Participants will have breakout sessions with policy experts from the state and region, as well as leading University of Georgia faculty. Following the sessions with faculty members, teams will write their policies, debate their ideas, and finally select a top proposal for each of the five categories -- generating the "perfect presidential platform." This conference will serve as an opportunity for Roosevelt chapters from across the nation to come together and share ideas.
