Shyam Ravindran

Shyam Ravindran is a Stanford undergraduate student studying Management Science & Engineering and Computer Science. Born in India, Shyam lived in New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Tennessee, before attending Monta Vista High School in Cupertino, CA. His first exposure to public policy came from high school debate, where he studied political philosophy and U.S. legal policy on his way to becoming a nationally ranked high school debater. At Stanford, he successfully ran for student government and become Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee. He is currently a board member of the Stanford Democrats. Shyam spent most of the early election cycle as a volunteer and vigorous supporter of the Wesley Clark campaign. He continues to study public policy and is particularly interested in taxation policy. Shyam hopes to pursue a career in the finance sector, and to stay involved in progressive causes.
