Joaquin Hernandez

Joaquin Hernandez is a sophomore from Lake Forest, California. He is currently pursuing a double major in Political Science and Psychology, and is most interested in research concerning efforts to bridge the socioeconomic and cultural divide between different races. During his senior year, Joaquin plans on pursuing an honors thesis in Political Science and attend Law School after graduation. Joaquin first took an interest in racial politics after attending the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership, which aims at instilling cultural pride and awareness of political, social, economic hurdles facing the Latino community. At Stanford, Joaquin is currently involved as a staff writer for The Stanford Daily and is the media relation’s officer for the Stanford Democrats. His most memorable college experience was helping campaign for Kerry in the fall of 2004. This summer, he plans to study abroad in Saint Louis University in Madrid, Spain where he will attend courses on Latin American politics.
