Tod Chubrich is a sophomore and plans on majoring in international relations. Born and raised in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he graduated from Milton Academy in Milton, Massachussetts in 2003 after boarding there for four years. He took the following year off, studying Italian in Florence for the fall, training as a ski instructor in the French Alps in February and March, and finally completing a six month full-time professional culinary course at Tante Marie’s Cooking School in San Francisco. He has been interested in politics since he was very young, and passionate about food for some time. He is a member of the Slow Food movement, which dedicates itself to sustainability, biodiversity in the food supply, and the preservation of the world’s gastronomic traditions. As a longtime traveler and Europhile, he would like to live and work internationally, initially in the private sector, with a focus on sustainability. To that end, he is interested in socially responsible finance and consulting as strategic avenues for change in the private sector. Later on, he would like to move into public policy and possibly politics. His greatest concerns are quality of life, sustainability, freedom, cultural diversity and world heritage, architecture, and chocolate. (not necessarily in that order)
