Russell Husen

Russell Husen is a Sophomore majoring in Public Policy with a concentration in International Policies and National Security. A fifth-generation Oregonian, Russell was raised in the state capital, Salem, and attended Sprague High School. Last summer, he worked as an intern in the office of Oregon Governor Theodore R. Kulongoski. As a Stanford Democrat, he was the Undergraduate Hall Captain Coordinator for the Stanford Democrats’ 2004 Voter Registration Drive. He is also one of fifteen current Senators on the ASSU Undergraduate Senate. Russell serves on the Undergraduate Senate Administration & Rules Committee as well as the Advocacy Committee, where he has primarily focused on preserving and expanding student free speech rights on campus. Russell’s policy concerns span most of the liberal spectrum, however he is particularly interested in the increasing integration of global economies and the evolution of international environmental law.
