Jackie Bernstein is a sophomore majoring in architectural design with a minor in German studies. After embarking on a two-month mountaineering trek across the Colorado Rockies, she developed a passion for preserving our natural world. However, as a resident of Fresno, Caone of the worlds largest agricultural centersshe was quick to realize that preservation is often thought of as a dirty word. Jackie is interested in exploring ways to erase the biases frequently associated with preservation and other environmental issues. Namely, she is currently researching marketing tactics that have proven successful for product campaigns and attempting to transpose these strategies into the world of environmental policy building and education. Issues particularly of interest are responsible agricultural practices and fair and effective water supply systems. Eventually, Jackie would like to apply her passion for the environment to her goal of becoming an architect and dedicate her career to the building of green buildings. Until she receives her M.Arch degree, Jackie is happy to enjoy the environment first-hand, preferably snow skiing or spelunking along the California coast.
