"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country."

Jonathan Elkin is a senior majoring in Public Policy, focusing on education policy. He got involved in the Stanford chapter's Center on Education and Learning last year and is currently co-director.

The night of fall's Stanford chapter welcome-back, he got inspired to write a late-night manifesto email kicking off the California op-ed project for the statewide special election. He is excited to see Roosevelt continue to work on coordinated op-ed campaigns.

Jonathan looks forward to working with very talented students and professors to develop ed policy ideas throughout this year.
