I'm a 22 year old History Major, Bio Minor, at UC Davis. Hopefully, I will graduate in Fall of 2006, and have the oppurtunity to experience the beginings of the Roosevelt institution at Davis.  My hometown is Saratoga,CA, a small community near the city of San Jose.

 In high school I did speech and Debate for three years, and I especially like Extemporaneous Speaking on Domestic and Foreign News Events. That was the spark of my interest in policy

    In my spare time I like to read: The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, International Herald Tribune, The Economist, AP Wire, and blogs of various talking media heads. I don't have a senior thesis project, my goal is more about getting some articles and editorials published. Major Geek, I know.

   With my History Background, I'm currently doing research on  the Historical Uses of Fuels (Coal,Oil,Natural Gas, Nuclear) in the 19th and 20th centuries, and how historical trends and current supplies will affect policy now and in the future.  Hopefully I can gain some insight into adoption of what we now term "alternative energy" by looking at historical factors along with contemporary ones. Think Hubbert's Peak and what it means for us in 2006 and beyond.
   For my current policy focus, I will take that historical context and examine the possible revival of Nuclear Power in the United States ( Plants haven't been built for decades), and pressure for drilling off California's Coast.
    Obviously I will be taking economic feasibility into account. If there is a member interested in doing a full-blown analysis of an "Energy Tech" based ecnomic boom, let me know.
