Robert Huston is the President of the University of Wisconsin chapter of the Roosevelt Institution. He is a Junior majoring in Honors Economics with a Mathematical Emphasis. He recently made a presentation on comprehensive health care reform to the Committee on Aging and Long-Term Care in the State of Wisconsin Assembly. He recommended a bill that would extend insurance to poor and near-poor children, alleviate the severe costs faced by the elderly by promoting proper financial planning, and increase the availability of insurance to adults. He has also been a contributor to the Wisconsin chapter’s monthly publication The Roosevelt Report. His most recent contribution compared the minimum wage to the Earned Income Tax Credit. Before becoming President, Robert was the Director of the Economic Policy Center.
