Carl M. Woodward is a Bioengineering student in his third year of study.  He is minoring in Human Biology with a particular interest in behavioral development and its implications on the U.S. educational system.  He was born in Spotsylvania, Virginia, and lived there throughout his formative years.  As a result, he yearns to explore the world.  Graduating from Courtland High School at the top of the class, he now attends Stanford University.  He is involved with the Society of Black Scientists and Engineers and the Stanford student government as well as an employee at the Black Community Services Center (BCSC) while managing to conduct medical research in the process. 

 

More commonly referred to as “Mike,” he is currently working on several projects ranging from the educational and cultural empowerment of low income minority students in the United States to health access for rural regions of developing nations.
