Born a really long time ago in Nebraska, Amy is a senior in the School of International Service at American University. She resided in Seattle for a number of years working as a rock musician, media researcher, and political activist. Amy is interested in human security issues, particularly peacekeeping and post-conflict reconstruction. She is the Communications Director for the American University chapter, and sits on the International Relations policy center. She also participated in the Increasing Socio-Economic Diversity in Higher Education Challenge, and her policy proposal Making the Hope Scholarship Work for Low-Income Students was published in the 2007 25 Ideas publication. In her free time, Amy likes listening to loud music and playing with her silly dog.
