Policy interests: Economic policy, Fair and clean politics, Healthcare, International development, Poverty and social justice, Responsible business practices, Social policy, Sustainability, Urban policy Julie Nguyen is an economics and art history major with a background in world politics and sociology. Most of her interests lie within the interaction of economic policy , political participation, and social instutitions. She is a current junior scholar of the McNair Scholars Program, an undergraduate program to assist in diversifying graduate education. She started her undergraduate career at the University of Southern Mississippi, then San Diego Community College before transferring to UC Davis. As an honors program transfer student hoping to contribute to the best ideas regarding progressive policies, she hopes to change the world one idea at a time. If not politics and economics, then let there be art, music and architecture to lead us to a greater society. Julie hopes to soon enter a PhD program in economic development to teach the young minds of tomorrow. Upon her inception into academic circles, she plans to open an art gallery in her hometown of San Diego.
