Tony’s interest in politics and international relations began early when he was chosen to participate in the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (Parlamentarische Partnerschaft Program) as a high school junior. During this year he lived and studied in Nierstein, Germany. Following his experience in Germany, Tony returned to Europe numerous times to both work and study.

Currently, Tony is an Account Executive at Weber Shandwick’s Minneapolis office. In his career as a communications professional, Tony has provided counsel for clients in the financial services, telecommunications and retail industries, as well as both non-governmental organizations and international and national governing bodies.

Previously, Tony interned at The Centre in Brussels, Belgium where he supported corporate, not-for-profit and governmental clients and learned skills in public affairs, lobbying and brand management. His experience in the international arena also includes work as a Freelance Public Relations Specialist for the Brussels office of Hill & Knowlton.

Prior to his work in Brussels, Tony worked for both Target Corporation and IBM in Minneapolis, Minnesota, developing business plans, budgeting forecasts and building logistical management plans. Through these positions Tony earned a broad range of experience in the project management field.

Tony graduated with a B.A. in International Relations / German studies and Business from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2002. He also holds an M.A. in International Political Economy from the University of Kent--Brussels School of International Studies. Tony speaks fluent German, and has studied Russian, Dutch and French while living abroad in Germany, Austria and Belgium. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Foreign Policy Association and the International Studies Association.
