David James is the founder of Collective Insight LLC. Collective Insight is a small technology startup based in Austin, TX. CI is building CommunityGoals, a Web application that empowers groups to raise money and accomplish goals together. David received a Masters in Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs in May 2005. He has undergraduate degrees in Electrical Engineering and Plan II Liberal Arts at UT-Austin from May 2000. David has worked as a designer, programmer, and consultant for several technology companies. More broadly, his interests include democratic deliberation and science and technology policy. Other interests include philosophy, artificial intelligence, and information visualization. David's also enjoys bicycling (on the road and on the trails, both for fun and to race) and playing the piano.
