"Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country."

Jordan became interested in politics after researching several policy issue areas while debating for the University of Iowa and Valley High School. Jordan has interned with several public officials including Senator Tom Harkin and Congressman Leonard Boswell’s offices in Washington D.C. Gaining perspective on the challenges facing the Middle East, Jordan has also been to Israel twice and studied at the University of Haifa last summer. After Hezbollah rocket-fire paralyzed Haifa—the program was evacuated to Jerusalem.

After graduating from the University of Iowa next year, Jordan hopes to serve in the Peace Corps and work as a congressional staffer. He can be contacted by email at Jordan-Pomeranz@uiowa.edu.
