Kevin J. Powers is the Roosevelt Institution’s Legislative Director for the Western Region and a Fellow in his chapter's Center on Peace and Security Studies. Kevin is a fourth-year student at the University of California, Davis, where he will graduate in June of 2008 with an A.B. in Political Science and minors in History, English Literature and Global & International Studies.

Kevin has been an active politico on the UC Davis campus, where he recently finished his term as the Chief of Staff in the Office of the ASUCD President. Kevin is a student representative to multiple Commissions for the City of Davis and the University of California, and has consulted for
campaigns at the City and State-level. Kevin maintains professional memberships in the American Association of Political Consultants, American Political Science Association, and the Royal Geographic Society.

Kevin was recently selected for a Fellowship with the California Public Interest Research Group, where he will begin in August of 2008.
His current research is centered around the recent disaster in Burma, and an Op/Ed on the subject is forthcoming.
