I am a graduate student at Indiana University, my bachelor's and master's degrees are in public policy analysis and economic development - and I'm currently working on my PhD in higher educaiton policy.  My main policy interests center around higher education policy, but pretty much every policy topic interests me so long as it improves standards of living and our collective quality of life.

I gravitate toward higher education policy because I see our nation's colleges (and I'm not just talking about four-year colleges, but community colleges too) as the critical link to closing so many gaps between the have's and the have-nots in our country.  As a nation, we must ensure that colleges are not agents of exclusion.  They must not widen socioeconomic gaps by making postsecondary education out of reach for poor students, undocumented immigrants, or those whose K-12 schools failed them.

Most people would agree that every individual should have an equal opportunity to an affordable college education.  But unfortunately our state and federal policies do not support that notion.  I am always happy to meet people with this shared vision, please feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like to share ideas.
