The Basics
I'm never very good at summing myself up in a text box, but I will certainly give it my best shot. I'm a second year Global Studies and Political Science major at the University of Minnesota. I'm interested in studying the ways in which more marginal countries, especially in Africa, have had difficulty developing. More specifically, I want to concentrate on what implications the actions of Western financial institutions or governments have on the developing world. Of course, as I'm sure many others would agree, the more injustice you learn about, the harder it is to have a concentration at all. My intellectual heroes include Joseph Stiglitz and Martin Luther King Jr. My other heroes include Brett Favre and Demetri Martin.
Current Projects
Well other than the seemingly endless stack of papers that I should be writing for school, I'm preparing to study in Senegal next fall. I will be spending about a month and a half in the capital city of Dakar before heading to a village to do an internship and research on rural development.
