Edie Moussa is a Ph.D. candidate at the Center for Public Administration and Policy at Virginia Tech, with a research concentration in health care policy—formulation and implementation. She currently is finishing her dissertation, an effectiveness analysis of Evidence-based Practice Center Program I, a government sponsored health care program.

Additionally, Edie served as co-chair and later chairperson of the Graduate Student Assembly, Health Care Committee at Virginia Tech for three consecutive years. During this time, she, with the help of various committee members, succeeded in establishing it as a freestanding committee; obtained health insurance reimbursement for full-time graduate assistants, along with access to a copy of their health insurance policy rather than simply a brochure; and, prescription cards for all graduate students insured under Virginia Tech.
Prior to her academic and research experience, Edie was a Program Analyst working with at-risk mothers for Regenerations Health Care in Oakland, CA, a Media Relations Specialist with the Chamber of Commerce in Yountville, CA, and the Director of Marketing for a private tourism company in Napa, CA.
