School: University of Arizona Member of: Roosevelt Academy Policy interests: Community development, Economic policy, Education, Energy, Environment, Human rights, Immigration, International development, Poverty and social justice, Social policy, Sustainability, Voting rights, Women, gender, and feminism Kendal is an international studies major, with a focus on the sustainable development of Central America, and a dual minor in Spanish and environmental science at the University of Arizona. Having grown up in Tucson, Arizona, her concerns for the broken U.S./Mexico border and issues facing immigrant and migrant communities were fueled from a young age. After interning with Border Action Network, Kendal continues to use her training as a human rights promoter and a human rights abuse documenter to advocate for universal human rights. As a fellow with Young People For, Kendal is hosting a “get paid to do good” career fair on her campus in order to encourage Arizona’s best to consider job opportunities within the progressive movement. She currently campaigns for an affordable, accessible, and quality higher education system as a member of the Arizona Students’ Association’s Board of Directors and is a fellow with the Young Elected Officials Network’s Front Line Leaders Academy.
