"If a man does not have an ideal and try to live up to it, then he becomes a mean, base and sordid creature, no matter how successful."

The Roosevelt Instituiton (RI) is the very best avenue for students to be heard that believe they have solutions to public policy issues.  Along with the help of a few motivated students at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) a progressive student organization was brought to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

My work with the RI has been as a Chapter Head, and later as the Southern Region Co-Chairperson, Alicia Raia being my counterpart.  I have enjoyed working with all the people I met at the RI, and the effort I invested in the RI has been most rewarding in seeing new chapters brought to colleges and universities all over the south.  I couldn't begin to name everyone but I especially am proud to have worked with Robert Nelb, Alicia Raia, Jesse Wolfson, and Warren "Smoot" Carter.

I graduated from UTC in May 2007, and plan to enter law school in August 2009.
