Former Center on International Development Co-Director Emily Morrell spent the summer in Rwanda working for the international NGO that she co-founded, Gardens for Health International (GHI), along with another Roosevelt Fellow from Brown. GHI works to build community gardens to provide the necessary nutritional support for HIV and AIDS patients. (more...)
Five Roosevelt Fellows from the Yale Chapter presented at the Roosevelt National Policy Expo in Washington, DC in July. They presented their research on microcredit in New Haven, predatory payday lending, health insurance mandates, and higher education access to an audience of members of Congres and staffers, advocacy organizations, and other members of the DC policy community.
Six groups of Yale students were published in the Roosevelt Institution's national publication series, 25 Ideas. The three 25 Ideas issues will be distributed to every member of Congress, along with thousands of state and local lawmakers around the country.
